Google’s Gemini AI WOKE virus suffered a viral backlash! Google’s Gemini has become the classic case of how algorithms affect any Artificial Intelligence mode. In its attempts to pander to the sensibilities of the increasingly WOKE audience, the creators ended up insulting the rest of the world. Gemini’s embraced inclusivity and diversity in historical depictions and religious ideologues. Thus, Google’s programming team’s well-intended efforts backfired badly on them.

However, soon after its release, the AI model came under fire for producing results that were deemed not just offensive and biased, but also historically inaccurate. If you thought that it was just a prompt issue with the image generator, then you would be wrong. The text content was also flawed. In their attempt to cater to the WOKE ideologies like Islamophobia, Gender Theory, etc.; the text responses were also deeply soul-shaking. Gemini AI was unable to give a scientific answer to the simple question of ‘How many genders are there?’

The huge public uproar at the distortion of facts and the insult to common beliefs forced Sundar Pichai, Google’s Chief Executive, to step forward to acknowledge the error. Thankfully, he minced no words when he stated “We Got It Wrong.” However, despite Google’s efforts to address these issues promptly, the primary issue remains the inherent challenges of programming an AI to respond to changing socio-religious and complex historical contexts.
The AI industry is continuously permeating various aspects of society. It is being used everywhere: from the everyday tasks of normal humans to the education, industrial, and medical sectors.
