The Gopatha Brahmana (Sanskrit: गोपथ ब्राह्मण, Gopatha Brāhmaṇa) is the only Brahmana, a genre of the prose texts describing the Vedic rituals, associated with the Atharvaveda. The text is associated with both the Shaunaka and the Paippalada recensions of the Atharvaveda. This text and the short Brahmanas of the Samaveda are the latest amongst the Vedic texts belonging to this genre.[2] The text is divided into two parts, the purva-bhaga or purva-brahmana comprising five prapathakas and the uttara-bhaga or uttara-brahmana comprising six prapathakas. Each prapathaka is further divided into kandikas. The purva-bhaga comprises 135 kandikas and the uttara-bhaga comprises 123 kandikas.

GOPATHA BRHAMANA​

The Gopatha Brahmana is associated with the Atharvaveda and dividd into two khandas (chapters), i.e. Purvabhaga and Uttarabhaga. The Purvabhaga is divided into 5 prapathakas and 135 kandikas and the Uttarabhaga is divided into 6 prapathakas and 123 kandikas.
It is considered that this Brahmana is associated with both Shaunaka and Paippalada Shakha of the Atharvaveda.

Rishi Nagarjuna (100 AD) was born in a village in Madhya Pradesh. He has made detailed research in the field of chemistry and made lot of inventions and discovered new things. He also wrote lot of medical books like Arogyamanjari and Yogasar, and cured the diseases of the people. He was appointed as the chief of the Nalanda University at Bihar.

He also introduced medicines for curing the diseases of the animals and birds, since he was very fond of them. He was considered as a great saint and a divine incarnation of Lord Vishnu. He showed courtesy on all the living beings in the earth, and treated the infected ones with much care and attention. He removed the sins of the people, by asking them, to chant the mantra “OM NAMO BHAGAVATHE VASUDEVAYA NAMAHA”.

He also provided food to the visiting guests at his ashram. Everyone in the region, were admired him, for his simplicity, generosity, holiness and kindness.

Let us worship the great rishi and be blessed.
