Mahua Moitra, a Trinamool Congress leader frequently uses unhinged rants to criticise her political opponents. Recently, she took a dig at Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. She called him by his birth name, Ajay Singh Bisht. This occurred after police killed Asad Ahmed and Mohammad Ghulam on April 13. Asad Ahmed was the son of gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed, who three attackers later killed in police custody. During a press conference, Moitra stated her preference to use real names. She mentioned that Yogi Adityanath’s real name is Ajay Bisht, despite his use of the title “Yogi.”

In a tweet, Moitra referred to Yogi Adityanath as Ajay Bisht, his pre-renunciation name, and criticised him and the UP Police for the killings of Atiq and Ashraf Ahmed. However, when a Twitter user referred to her by her full name, Mahua Moitra Lars Brorson, she blocked him. The Twitter user then accused Moitra of hypocrisy for calling out Yogi Adityanath by his pre-renunciation name but blocking people who use her past name.

So the hypocrisy Queen @MahuaMoitra blocked me and ran with her tail nicely tucked in when I called her with her past name MAHUA LARS BRORSON but this bigot has the audacity to call @myogiadityanath with hai pre-renunciation name and sees nothing wrong in it. Why are these TMC… pic.twitter.com/yEvRE5v4y7

Why Block The People?

Since the issue is to refer to the “real” name, the public gave a staunch reply to her by using her name after marriage. That she did not like is an understatement.

So @MahuaMoitra 's previous name was Mahua Lars Brorson okie!
If Yogi Adityanath is addressed as Ajay Bisht then Mahua Moitra should be Mahua Lars Brorson! https://t.co/Ad83GuHJjl

Mahua Moitra, i mean Mahua Lars Brorson won't talk about the ongoing job scam going on in WB where 3 TMC MLAs have already been arrested.
She won't talk about the recent incidents of minor r@pes here.
But she will shed tears for a m@fia don.
If hypocrisy had a face https://t.co/mOyV92eJou

After separating from her husband Lars Brorson, Mahua decided to use her maiden name. In contrast, Yogi Adityanath renounced his material life and became a Sanyasi.

He is a revered saint of the Nath Sampradaya and Mahant of Gorakhnath Muth, one of the most important temples of the sect. As a result, he no longer goes by his birth name but is known as Yogi Adityanath.

Mahua Moitra claims to prefer using people’s real name. She refuses understand that in the sacred traditions of Hindu Dharma, when a person becomes a Sanyasi, they are reborn spiritually and take a new name. They sever all ties with their family and devote the rest of their life to the gods and Dharma. Therefore, Yogi Adityanath’s Sanyasi name is his true “real name”. Calling him by his birth name, Ajay Bisht, due to political differences, is disrespectful to the Sanyas tradition in Hindu Dharma. The repeated use of Ajay Bisht to address Yogi Adityanath is also indicative of Hinduphobia and blatant disregard for Hindu religious practices.

Respect Goes Both Ways

The Trinamool Congress Member of Parliament should remember that respect works both ways. Despite her political opposition to the democratically elected Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, if she expects to be called by her real name, she should also show respect for Yogi Adityanath’s name and identity as a saint of the Nath Sampradaya and a Sanyasi.
