While the social media war on the Maldives takes on epic proportions, a small piece of tidbit escaped everyone’s notice!!! Immediately after the mocking of PM Modi and India, the island republic found itself in a truly embarrassing moment! Not only had it landed itself in a self-defeating debate, but it was also in the crosshairs of a suspected cyberattack!
Who instigated the attack?? We don’t care!!! Did Indians bully Maldivian authorities??? We don’t know!!! However, we do know that this Saturday was eventful for the Maldivians as its essential government websites were crippled!!! Let’s talk about this suspected digital onslaught following a diplomatic tension that is boiling the island nation in hot water!!!

On 6th January 2024, the official websites of the Maldivian President Muizzu, the Foreign Ministry, and the Tourism Ministry faced hours of inaccessibility. The official reason was ‘technical issues’.
After several hours of forced downtime, the websites came online through the efforts of The National Centre for Information Technology (NCIT). The diligent efforts of the NCIT team helped stem rumors of the depth of cyber invasion due to the suspected attack!

Usually, any elected President of Maldives visits India in his first foreign visit. Muizzu went to Turkey!!! Do you know why??? Well, like all Islamists, he also thinks he is a descendant of the Arabs and Turks! While the same Turks and Arabs ridicule these individuals as lower than low ‘convertee crap’!!!!

These two moves have escalated tensions between Maldives and India. As a deliberate ‘India Out’ Hinduphobic campaigner, Muizzu is unable to digest the reality that the island republic without India is a handicapped nation. Thus, the move to find assistance with India’s hostile neighbor is a bad move in Chinese Checker! However, by presenting himself as an anti-India politician, he has burnt several bridges with India.
Thus, to present himself as an unbiased leader, Muizzu suspended the MPs responsible for the inflammatory remarks against India and PM Modi. This move helps him walk the narrowing corridors of diplomacy with Bharat. Muizzu should know that its independence is possible due to its proximity to Bharat! Had it been closer to China, it would be finding itself under communist law!
