Concept of Time
Chronology of the universe as it is understood by the current "scientists" does not help us to interpret and understand what the great Rishis have tried to convey to us in this Kali Yuga. There may not be a better standard of measurement of time and chronology outside the Puranas and Itihasas. We will probably have to validate these concepts internal to these renderings of great Rishis. The current approach of "science" may not be the best tool to understand them.
Although I have not yet completed my translation of Mahabharata, my study of Mahabharata and the other resources suggest the following two that probably are not yet tested through modern science:
- Although Time appears to us to be linear, the Rishis suggest that Time is cyclical, like seasons. This is probably because currently the human capacity (in Kali Yuga) has not yet developed for a fuller understanding of Time. We are limited by the sense organs and currently the science relies almost entirely on "phenomenon" that is observable and can be documented systematically. Our observations are in turn limited by what can be observed through our sense organs.

- Kali Yuga is a very special segment in the cyclical nature of Time in that Kali Yuga leads to Satya Yuga. Since time is not linear, the current confusion that exists in humans is not going to be the same, and and it will improve to bring in the Satya Yuga, where we had a more complete understanding of the what the Rishis have been saying.
- Just like seasons, the time/events keep repeating themselves. The concepts of past, present and future do not apply to Time, once we consider it to be cyclical and not linear.
