The Indian Parliament is witnessing a really tumultuous session this week! Yesterday, the Lok Sabha suffered a security breach and smoke bombs! Yesterday marked the adoption of a motion for the suspension of TMC MP Derek O’Brien for the remainder of the winter session! Why? Mr. O’Brien was thrown out of the Rajya Sabha due to “ignoble misconduct.” Let’s unlock the security issue and subsequent suspension in the two Houses of Parliament!

The Lok Sabha was disrupted yesterday by smoke bombs! An activist jumped down from the visitor’s gallery and threw smoke bombs inside the lower house while the members were seated. Why? He did not say. His accomplices lit up smoke bombs outside the main building and started a chant against the BJP government! Why? No real cause of dissatisfaction was given!
The attackers were later recognized as a group of Congress party’s Andolanjeevi. They had nothing to protest about in the last few months. It seems they got bored out of their brains to plan this useless attack on the parliament. What was really dumb was that the attack was planned on the same day as the 2001 terrorist attack on the Parliament! They had no demands, no cause, no reason for discontent! It seems they were given a task to disrupt the parliament and cause chaos!

Yesterday, the Chairman of Rajya Sabha passed a motion for the suspension of TMC’s MP Derek O’Brien. His suspension will last for the entirety of the winter session for “ignoble misconduct.” What misconduct? Well, Opposition MPs demanded a discussion on yesterday’s Parliament security breach. The matter is still under investigation by the authorities. One of the accused is still absconding! Can this matter be discussed so summarily? Of course not! But when has the opposition wanted to adhere to reason? They were happy to be given a weapon, even a blunt one, to point at the BJP government.
Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar disallowed 28 notices served by opposition MPs that sought suspension of business for the day. The opposition members wanted HM Amit Shah to be answerable and discuss the security breach. Not a bad idea! But the breach happened 24 hours ago! The investigation is pending! What they really wanted was to blame the BJP leader for this breach without waiting for the results of the investigation! In defiance of the Chair, opposition MPs moved into the Well of the House shouting slogans at the Chairman. This resulted in the Cahriman Jagdeep condemning the unruly behavior of the MPs.
Thereafter, TMC leader Derek O’Brien moved to the area in front of the Chair and gestured with his hands. This infuriated Chairman Dhankhar. Thus, Derek O’Brien was asked to leave the House as per parliamentary protocol. However, despite being named by the Chair to leave the Rajya Sabha, O’Brien continued his unruly conduct by shouting repeatedly and disrupting the proceedings of the house.
The Congress loyalists are comparing the unaffected Rahul Gandhi’s image to an ‘alpha’ male icon. Contrarily, the nationalists are questioning his lack of surprise or action at the attack! Did he know something was going to happen in the Lok Sabha that day?!! Most netizens exclaim that Mr. Gandhi’s clam was not normal, in fact, it displays an inability to act in times of need! However, some halfwits are also equating the attack to Bhagat Singh’s bombing of Delhi’s Central Assembly in 1929! Is there really a parallel to be drawn?!! Do such people hold Shaheed Bhagat Singh’s sacrifice so shallowly in their hearts?!!!
The security breach was a shameful incident but the resulting Rajya Sabha misconduct is even more so. The I.N.D.I. Alliance leaders refuse to obey orders in the parliament. Their sense of entitlement for answers has risen to the level that they want justifications for any incident within 24 hours! The suspension of Derek O’Brien reflects the heightened tensions between the political parties in the run-up to the 2024 general elections. Bharat awaits the results of the Lok Sabha security breach. However, it seems that the political drama on the floors of the house will continue to become more and more interesting and spicy!
