The 1991 Place of Worship (Special Provisions) Act is not merely a legal document but a draconian chapter of Bharat’s socio-religious history. The genesis of the Place of Worship Act is intricately tied to the Ayodhya dispute. The demands for Ram Janambhoomi reached its zenith in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The rising anti-Babri Masjid feeling gave birth to a Hindu-Muslim divide in the nation!

The Congress-led government felt incompetent to calm the communal tensions. Thus, it laid the groundwork for the need to appease the minorities of the nation. It froze the religion of the country on a single date in history, 15th August 1947. Let’s talk about how the sanctity of Hindu religious places, trampled over generations and centuries, was buried 6-feet-under-the-ground by the Congress.

Core Tenet of The Place of Worship Act

Places Of Worship Act,1991

Enacted on July 11, 1991, the Place of Worship Act is often referred to as a “freeze law.” It mandates that the religious character of a place of worship should remain the same as it was on the day of India’s Independence. In simpler terms, it maintains the status quo of religious structures, discouraging alterations or even discussions of alternations based on communal sentiments.

Here are a few of its features:

  1. Date of Reference: The freeze date is August 15, 1947. The status of any religious structure post-independence shall remain unchanged.
  2. Applicability: The Act applies to all places of worship, including temples, mosques, churches, gurdwaras, and other religious sites.
  3. Prohibition on Conversion: It prohibits the conversion of places of worship.
  4. Exceptions: The Act makes exceptions for certain specific instances. The exception applies to those places where the religious character of a place of worship was changed between August 15, 1947, and July 11, 1991.
  5. Legal Bar: It legally bars seeking legal remedies to reclaim the religious character of places of worship.

The Places of Worship Act was the Congress’ appeasement politics at its best. History is witness to the fact, that in India a Hindu Mandir was never built by demolishing someone’s Masjid or Church or Agiary or Synagogue! Thus, which communities was this Act supporting??!! Interestingly, the answer points to the two major Abrahamic communities that have aimed their swords and guns at Hindus of Bharat.

Temples were looted by Christian Traders-Turned-TyrantRulers and by Muslim Invaders-Turned-Squatting Sultans.

These Tyrant Rulers and Squatting Sultans, both, demolished and desecrated Hindu Temples to make place of worship of their own religion!!! Thus, this Act basically allows them to keep their stolen yields and spit on the sentiments of Bharat’s majority!

The 1991 Place of Worship Act directly fuelled the demolishment of Babri Masjid! It ensured that a cornered Hindu took their right by force and might!!! However, the consequence of this special ammendment still stops Hindus from claiming several other Hindu temples! By attempting to freeze the status of religious sites, the Act ensures that Hindus of Bharat continued to bleed for the so-called minorities! But Why?

  • So that Congress could attain a few more Muslim votes??
  • Just so that Appeasement-Specialist-Congress can make Hindus part with more of their religious land?!
  • So the Congress can lay claim to the image of secular governance!?!

Controversy or Travesty?

Once looted, always seeking. Hindus have been on the receiving end of this pseudo secularism where even MUSLIM COMMUNITY NEVER TOOK INITIATIVE TO RETURN INVADED TEMPLES. What sort of 'Bhaichara' is this

The Place of Worship Act’s claimed intention of fostering communal harmony. However, the price of harmony was extracted from the Hindus of Bharat! If the Muslims carved Bharat into two nations, can they continue to claim any Hindu structure Muslim invaders demolished? This extremely politically motivated, appeasement specialist Act ensures that Hindus can never reclaim their glorious structures!

No one questions why suddenly a Mazar crops up unnoticed. No one questions why dargahs, masjids, and Mazars are present at every corner of Bharat. The 20 crore Muslims have 6,00,000 mosques in Bharat. This translates to 1 mosque for every 333 Muslims!!! The number of Muslims per mosque further reduces if we factor in the number of Muslim women numbers. As Muslim women are not allowed to go to mosques for worship, the establishment remains a purely Muslim male luxury of religion! Muslims can look to Ka’bah and pray; they usually do this on roads, platforms, airports, buses, and train tracks! Then why do they need to fight for a Hindu place of worship that was forcefully taken by Foreign Invaders!!!

The answers to such questions are uncomfortable and unpleasant! Is it another form of Jihad or Ghazwa-e-Hind?! The essence of The Places of Worship Act is anti-Hindu! Thus, the Act reflects the intricate game of appeasement that the Congress played with the majority of Bharat! Let Bharat reject the ugly face of suppresion left by Muslim Mauraders’ on Tmeples! Unchain the Hindu temples frozen in time under this Act! Hopefully, Bharat’s contituion shall be free from such special ammendments soon! Let’s pray that this Act is repealed as soon as possible!!
