However, it is worth noting that Jaffrelot’s remarks conveniently omitted any mention of violence perpetrated by extremist elements in India’s history, including those from the Muslim League, which played a role in India’s partition.
One of the significant criticisms of Rahul Gandhi’s statements is his selective criticism. He focused on alleged Hindu violence while remaining silent on incidents of violence perpetrated against Hindus or attacks on churches that were proven to be unrelated to any Hindu organization.

He accused Modi of practicing “national populism” and claimed that the government was eroding democratic institutions and checks and balances. The Prime Minister’s initiatives in social and economic development, such as Digital India and Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojna, have positively impacted millions of Indians, especially those from marginalized backgrounds.
