The aftermath of the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir has been nothing short of a rollercoaster ride! Since 2019, when the abrogation was first passed in parliament, the ‘toolkit’ media and political henchmen have been experiencing constant meltdowns! After the SC verdict, Bharat saw its fair share of drama from Burnol moment political reactions and rumbles in Rajya Sabha!
After the division of the state into two separate union territories, the Supreme Court weighed in on the legality of the abrogation. The recent bench announcement declared Jammu and Kashmir an integral part of India, emphasizing that Article 370 was a temporary provision. The judgment went beyond government actions, stating that the proviso to Article 370(3) had become redundant, and the President could have exercised the power of abrogation at any time. The unanimous 5-0 decision on the case was a severe Burnol Moment for the 17 lawyers fielded by the I.N.D.I. Alliance!
The BJP and its allies celebrated by listing seats in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) for the future assembly of J and the SC’s verdict on J&K. However, the opposition gave the media front seat to their “Burnol moment” meltdowns!
The Rajya Sabha witnessed several meltdowns as politicians from different parties clashed over the abrogation of HM Amit Shah. Many ministers of various parties came forward to express dissatisfaction with the SC verdict. RJD MP Manoj Jha even attempted to highlight the absence of representation from Kashmir!
However, the highlight of the day went to DMK’s MP MM Abdullah whose opposition to Article 370’s abrogation resulted in chaos! He stated that the abrogation was an attack on federalism. However, he faced strong resistance from Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar, who insisted that all members should respect the Supreme Court’s judgment while exercising their freedom of speech.
Contrary to expectations the MP did not pay attention to the chairman’s words as he went further on to quote EV Ramaswamy. The MP said “Every race has the right to self-determination” and used this quote to determine the rights of the Kashmiri race!!! This remark was strongly objected to by Chairman Dhankhar himself. The MP was accused of presenting racially discriminatory remarks and abusing his right to the floor. The Chairman expunged the entire speech by MP MM Abdullah as it was entirely improper and incorrect in the context it was used!
Tamil Nadu DMK’s MP Tiruchi Siva also stirred the pot of controversy. He suggested that Article 370 would be restored “if” Congress comes to power! This led to a demand for clarity from HM Amit Shah. He asked the MP to state if this was the agenda of the DMK or the entire I.N.D.I. alliance for 2024! Unable to accept the exposure of their hidden agenda, the opposition staged a walkout! Thus, the ensuing walkout by the opposition in Rajya Sabha indicated their inability to speak in favor of restoring Article 370 without damaging their political future!
While the BJP and its leaders go to bat for Bharat, the I.N.D.I. alliance repeatedly showcases their selfish agendas. Instead of accepting the abrogation of Article 370, Congress and the toolkit media are fighting the amendment tooth and nail. The post Article-370 political era is marked by legal cases, political clashes, and spirited debates where BJP wants to unite J&K with India and Congress wants to project it as a separate entity. Therefore, Bharat and its people should closely observe those who are crying heartfelt tears at the SC’s verdict! Do such people and politicians really have the wellbeing of Bharat in their hearts?!! Or are they just unhappy that the BJP was able to accomplish its long-standing goal of unifying Bharat?!! Thus, Bharat should remember these reactions and meltdowns before it goes to vote in 2024!

- Congress leader P. Chidambaram stated that he respectfully disagreed with the SC judgment. Expressing not only his but also the Congress party’s disappointment that the SC did not address the dismembering of the state.
- AIMIM’s Assaduddin Owaisi expressed his deep disappointment in the SC’s verdict. In his views J&K and Article 370 are inseparable!
- Mehbooba Mufti of the PDP portrayed the verdict as a defeat for the idea of India! She took to social media to encourage her entourage to ‘not lose hope’! She encouraged people to continue to fight for their rights! Now, the question is who exactly is fighting to keep Kashmir away from the rest of India?? Who exactly was she addressing these remarks to???
- Omar Abdullah of the NC party took to lamenting his restricted ability to share reactions with the media. He alleges that journalists can’t reach out to him! He even stated his lack of personal freedom! He does seem to forget that his father was outside the Lok Sabha a few days back giving out statements that question the EVM method of voting!!! By the looks of it, while Abdullah Sr. is out on the loose, Abdullah Jr. is claiming political house arrest! Maybe the Dad locked up his naughty Son to avoid trouble?!!!
- Even the Arfa Khanum Sherwani went into a spiral of depression! She expressed her strong disappointment in the Supreme Court and its verdict. She states that the diminishing faith of the people in the pursuit of justice! Her meltdown further spirals down into self-pity when she notes in a later tweet her heartbreak about how she is documenting her own end!!!
