The latest debasement of Sanatani Traditions comes from the Raghav Chadha and Parineeti Chopra washed-out-as-close-to-‘white’ wedding. The Vadhu, Parineeti, wore colors that were so close to white that it may as well have been a Christian Wedding. The color of the bride’s attire and the decoration of the wedding displayed the couple’s Westernized thinking. While some people may argue that the color of a wedding is a personal preference, they must understand that each ritual and the colors used in it have certain symbolic and religious context. Would you make a Muslim Bride wear saffron at her wedding? Would a Christian Bride wear Black to the Church? The answer is obviously ‘No’. So why are personal choices to be given preference over Sanatana Customs?
Public figures must know that their actions influence the thinking of the new generation. Their personal choices can lead the malleable minds of the youth astray.
