On 3rd September Udhayanidhi Stalin broke all known records of anti-Hindu agenda. In a recent event, he shamelessly incited genocidal remarks against Sanatana Dharma. This has placed him fair-and-square in the crosshairs of a political controversy. Tamil Nadu Congress spokesperson and General Secretary, Lakshmi Ramachandran, found herself sharing the stage of controversy with Stalin’s son after equating Sanatan Dharma with hate-mongering in a tweet. However, she was not alone on that stage of controversy. Within hours of his anit-Hindu remarks, Karti Chidambaram had also tweeted his support for Stalin’s son and his remarks.

Now Tamil Nadu’s volatile political landscape is roiling by these series of provocative statements made by political leaders. These statements have touched a raw nerve on Hindus in the state. These tweets show that 87% Hindus of Tamil Nadu are being held in staunch contempt by the state’s political leaders. Their austere anti-Hindu views on Sanatana Dharma smell strongly of ‘toolkit’ agenda and Hinduphobia.

Congress’s Spokeswoman Lakshmi Ramachandran’s Remarks

Sanathanam is another name for the hate-mongering, casteist Hindutva which has its origins in the North. In the south, our Hinduism is peace-loving and striving to be inclusive. Ramanujar, Vallalar and Narayana Guru kind of Hinduism is our Hinduism.

An extension of the Anti-Hindu agenda controversy began when Tamil Nadu Congress spokesperson Lakshmi Ramachandran equated Sanatan Dharma, of which Hinduism is a part, with hate-mongering. She claimed that ‘Santhanam’ was another name for the “hate-mongering” and “Caste Hierarchical Society.” She further asserted that it was the product of ‘North-Indian’ ideology. These remarks have a distinct Fake ‘Aryan-Dravidian ‘ flavor of divisive politics. She supported Stalin’s son(Udhayanidhi Stalin) by left-handedly exclaiming that Sanatana Dharma is a ‘North-Indian’ concept. Her remarks affirmed Udhayanidhi’s view on how Sanatana Dharma should be eradicated from the Southern regions of India.

She further exclaimed that Hindus of the South differed from those in the North. Her statements defined Hindus of the South as peace-loving and inclusive. However, she forgot that asking for the removal of the caste system cannot be equated to the eradication of Sanatana Dharma. She would like to paint Hindus of the South as peace-loving to keep them sleeping in their fake world of security. While the Indians are awakening to the need of the hour to protect their legacy, reclaim their heritage, and preserve their religious identity; such remarks by political leaders raise questions on their political intent and personal ideology.

Congress’ Karti Chidambaram supports Udhayanidhi Stalin’s Remarks

Sanathana Dharma is nothing but code for a Caste Hierarchical Society. All those batting for it are hankering for the Good Ole Days! Caste is the Curse of India

— Karti P Chidambaram (@KartiPC) September 2, 2023

Immediately after DMK’s leader Udhayanidhi Stalin likened Sanatana Dharma’s civilizational religious philosophy to diseases like ‘malaria’ and ‘dengue’; Congress’ Karti Chidambaram came out to support him in a tweet.

He fully endorsed Udhayanidhi’s remarks about how Sanatan Dharma divides people based on caste and religion. Furthermore, he went on to criticize those advocating for the religion and condemned caste as the curse of India.

However, none of his remarks addressed how Stalin’s son was dog-whistling anti-HIndu elements to start Hindu genocide in the state. Moreover, he did not condemn the use of terms like malaria and dengue in relation to a millenia-old religion. This shows his clear disinterest in wooing Hindu votes of Tamil Nadu. Additionally, it shows his deep-rooted hatred of Hinduism and Hindus.

These comments by prominent leaders of the dot-dot brigade have large implications in Tamil Nadu’s political arena. They raise strong concerns about the stance of political parties about the dominant religion of the state. Moreover, it shows how they want to use provocative religious sentiments to sway minority and SC/ST voters. Furthermore, their triggered remarks and unconditional support of the I.N.D.I.A members displays their united opposition to the Sanatana Dharma in general and Hindus in particular.

While the opposition coalition talks of inclusivity, its leaders display their heartfelt contempt for India’s Hindus. Those who vote for ‘freebies’ should review these comments under a fine lens for the unstated anti-Hindu agenda of the dot-dot brigade. As Tamil Nadu heads into election campaigning mode, these remarks have the potential to influence certain types of voters and donations from ‘toolkit’ supporters. It remains to be seen if the public can decode the clear message these leaders’ comments are conveying.

These I.N.D.I.A. leaders are not talking about removing casteism from its roots, they are not talking about helping the downtrodden, and they are not talking about reforms for the poor. They are talking of systematically dismantling and destroying millennia-old religions. Their comments display their anti-Hindu agenda of subtly encouraging conversion of the masses, demolishment of the prevalent temple system, and claiming India’s untold potential under ‘THEIR GOD and THEIR CLAN.’
