Maulana Tauqeer Raza Khan of the Ittihad-e-Millat Council party, was miffed by the central government’s decision to award Bharat Ratna to veteran politician Lal Krishna Advani. In a press interaction, the Maulana accused Advani of playing divisive politics and spreading hatred. He issued a stark warning of a potential civil war and Hindu genocide!
Tauqeer Raza argued that if Lal Krishna Advani’s Rath Yatra in the 1990s genuinely aimed at progress, prosperity, peace and brotherhood, then the Bharat Ratna would be justified. However, the Maulana asserted that Advani was honored for contributing to the current atmosphere of “hatred, dishonesty, and injustice”. He deemed it an insult to the prestigious award!
Maulana Tauqeer Raza Khan went beyond criticism and issued a stark warning of a potential civil war in India. The Maulana stated,
