The proposed legislation suggests minimum sentences of three to five years, with organized crimes attracting imprisonment of five to 10 years and a minimum fine of Rs 1 crore. Service provider firms in examinations could face fines up to Rs 1 crore, along with the recovery of examination costs. Additionally, such firms may be barred from conducting public examinations for four years. The bill also envisions the establishment of a high-level National Technical Committee on Public Examinations to develop protocols for securing digital platforms, ensuring fool-proof IT security systems, implementing electronic surveillance, and formulating national standards for infrastructure.
