The fake fact-checker will enjoy a medal, a certificate, and 25,000 cash for spreading his falsehoods. The DMK’s decision triggers a justifiable widespread online outrage, given Zubair’s questionable track record and known Hinduphobia.

DMK loved his debunking of a viral video that claimed migrant workers from Bihar were facing attacks in Tamil Nadu. He checks false news and propaganda for Karnataka as an officially appointed fact-checker. However, a closer examination reveals a pattern of selective fact-checking and dissemination of misinformation.

The true motivation behind Mohammed Zubair’s recognition is his relentless targeting of the BJP and the Hindu right wing. He was under arrest in June 2022 on charges of spreading misinformation.
